SAFECURTAIN is ideal for the fire compartment of large openings up to 30 m. It can be installed on the roof and closes automatically in case of fire. It is designed and manufactured in SAFEDOOR factory, for each opening separately, in custom made dimensions, according to the required specifications.

The fire curtain consists of a special fire-resistant glass fabric, which is sewn to the desired dimensions with fire-resistant thread consisting of stainless-steel wires, lined with cotton fibers. This fabric is fastened on a steel barrel, which is supported on two vertical steel plates installed inside the building opening. Steel bottom bar is applied to the lower side of the fabric for the safe approach of the curtain to the floor.

If an escape route is required inside the fire curtain, a fire-safe escape opening (manhole) certified according to BS 476: Part 22 and BS 7346: part 3 is possible.The operation of the fire curtain is done electrically with a suitable motor through a push button or manually with a chain.

In case of fire, the curtain closes automatically, with or without electrical power, through a special automation, which receives a 24 V DC signal from the fire detection panel. It also has a fuse that activates with a local increase in temperature to 680C and releases the engine brake, allowing the fire curtain to get closed (fail safe operation).
